Respected Teachers, my dear fellow students, and guests,
Today, on the occasion of National Science Day, it is my pleasure to address you all and share my thoughts on the importance of science in our daily lives. First of all, let me begin by wishing you all a very Happy National Science Day !
National Science Day speech
This day is celebrated every year on the 28th of February to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by the Indian physicist Sir CV Raman. His discovery led to the development of the field of Raman spectroscopy, which has since become an essential tool in a wide range of scientific disciplines.
Science has been an integral part of human civilization since ancient times. From the discovery of fire to the invention of the wheel, every significant advancement in human history has been due to scientific exploration and experimentation. Today, science continues to play a critical role in our lives, from medicine to transportation, communication to space exploration.
In the last few years, we have witnessed significant advances in science and technology. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of scientific research in combating global health crises. The development of vaccines and treatments for the virus has been possible due to the tireless efforts of scientists and researchers worldwide.
Moreover, science has also been instrumental in providing us with sustainable solutions to address the environmental challenges that we face today. From renewable energy sources to eco-friendly technologies, science has enabled us to develop solutions that can help us create a more sustainable future.
What is the theme of National Science Day 2024?
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Monday announced the theme of National Science Day 2023 as ‘Global Science for Global Welfare’. This theme means that India is facing many new global challenges as it enters 2023 and not only India but every country is going through many challenges. It is very important to highlight the importance of science to meet these challenges and for the welfare of the world.
As students, we have a critical role to play in shaping the future of science. We are the future scientists, innovators, and problem-solvers who will tackle the challenges of tomorrow. It is, therefore, essential for us to understand the value of science and its significance in our lives.
In conclusion National Science Day
I urge all of you to embrace science and to continue to explore the wonders of the universe. Let us use our curiosity and creativity to make the world a better place. I wish you all a happy and prosperous National Science Day!
Thank you.
